Dan Holohan
Dan Holohan will take you into the past. He'll tell
you stories of invention and destruction, and ultimate
triumph as the Dead Men learned how to master the
power of steam to provide comfort. The buildings
they worked in are still here and so are many of the
systems they installed. Dan will show you tricks of
the trade that he learned from the Dead Men. He'll talk
about boiler sizing, good and proper piping, balancing
with air vents (and that includes the air that moves
through steam traps), steam traps themselves,
condensate and boiler-feed pumps, vacuum and
pressuret and a lot more. He'll fi ll your head with
knowledge that you can use on that next steam job.
Why shouldn't you be the one with the answers?

Why are some mechanical foremen consistently
more successful than the typical foreman in our
industry? What are the qualities, methods, and
practices that separate a good foreman from a
great foreman? While age, experience, attitude,
and talent are important factors in a foreman's
success, most of the qualities, characteristics, and
habits of the industry's best foremen are skills that
can be learned over time by any foreman who has
the attitude, aptitude, and desire to improve and
succeed. This session will focus on the following
"best practice" topics: planning, safety, production,
material handling, integrity/ethics, leadership,
MCA continues its Foreman Certifi cation
