Pressure on managing projects driven by shorter
schedules, less information and higher demands on
performance requires us to put more effort into looking
out for our interests and striving to get what is fair.
This seminar focuses on how to improve negotiating
skills to optimize the outcome for our position and
interest in getting what is fair. This is a four-hour
seminar with learning, skill set development and two
workshops for practical application of negotiation
principles. This seminar will give several insights into
the topics of interpersonal skills, confl ict resolution,
and negotiation skills.

This course is designed to help improve labor
productivity to achieve better project gross profi t
and company net profi t. Success in improving labor
productivity is driven by a three-phase process in
job planning; measurement and feedback coupled
with field supervisory techniques. Studies have
documented that only 33% to 40% of a craftsman
day are spent installing. Learning techniques on
how to move time out of the non-installation (non-
productive) activities into the installation have a great
effect on producing better results. The presenter has
hands on experience on improving productivity by
7% in a three-year period within McClure Company.
This course will cover: an overview of productivity
in the mechanical construction industry, project
planning activities that drive productivity, supervisory
techniques and skills, and implementing and
executing productivity improvement.

for Project Managers

This session will apply those fundamental negotiation
skills learned in the introductory session to the
"real-life" scenarios commonly encountered by the
project manager. Attendees will actively practice
their negotiation techniques in class and will
participate in the positive evaluation of their peers.
These exercises will enforce the basics of successful
negotiation and provide the attendee with a "non-
threatening" forum for improving their negotiating skills.

Completion of PMR 410, Basic Negotiating Skills for
Project Managers, is a prerequisite to attend this course.
