LETTER FROM THE CHAIRPERSON
Dear Chicago-Area Contractor:
On behalf of the MCA's Construction Education Institute, we are pleased to present
the Spring Semester Course Catalog for 2010. MCA continues to pride itself on offering
outstanding programs for the betterment of our contractors and the construction
industry in the Chicagoland area.
One of our cornerstone programs is the Executive Forum an intense, high quality training
program for those who are new to running a construction company or who are likely
to be running a construction company. Executive Forum was designed to be a "CEO 101"
program. The program teaches the basics that any CEO must know in order for his or
her company to survive, such as: Insurance & Bonding, Employment and Contract Law,
Finance, and Marketing. We have added new components to the curriculum this year:
Knowing Your CBA, Executive Presence and Money & Banking. I encourage you to attend.
I would like to thank our construction industry partners for their continued support of
our programming. They are: Plumbing Contractors Association (PCA), Plumbing Council
of Chicago, Plumbing and Mechanical Contractors of Northern Illinois (PAMCANI), Chicagoland Sheet Metal
Contractors Association (CSMCA), Illinois Environmental Contractors Association (IECA), Piping Industry Council
Rockford Area (PICRA), and the Piping Education Council (PEC).
This semester we will once again introduce new programs. Some of these new offerings include:
· Time Management
· BIM Navisworks
We have also updated our webcast offerings. You can take the following new courses on our website at
www.mca.org
at any time and at your convenience. There are six new webcasts now that you can view:
· Introduction to Power Point
· Intermediate Power Point
· Advanced Power Point
We encourage and welcome your comments as we are always looking to improve the curriculum
of our Institute.
Thank you for your enthusiastic support of the MCA education program.
Sincerely,
James McCauley Jr.

"The educational offerings through the MCA are one
of the biggest bargains in the construction industry
for anyone trying to improve themselves or their

and the PCA is proud to be a co-sponsor."
