Government Relations

One of the responsibilities MCA of Chicago takes most seriously is advocacy before government to inform our decision-makers of the complexities of our industry, fight for positive changes, and protect our members against adverse legislative and regulatory action.

MCA values a collaborative approach to government relations, working with our labor and industry partners on matters of particular concern not only to the mechanical contracting community, but also to the entire business and construction industries. Coalition building has allowed us to be successful in not only defending against reinstatement of the Structural Work Act, but in passing numerous positive law changes and fighting back countless adverse ones.

MCA not only communicates critical news to our members about what is going on before government and the decisions which may cost contractors both time and money, but also promotes grass roots advocacy by involving MCA members in decision-making and meeting with decision-makers.
