HEAT FOR HEROES

MCA and Pipefitters Local 597 - Helping Our Troops by Helping Their Families

Heat For Heroes on FacebookMCA and LU 597 developed the Heat for Heroes program to help the families of our active duty troops stay warm this winter – at no cost to the families. Working through Operation Homefront of Illinois, the contractor members of MCA and their service technicians from Pipefitters Local 597 are providing free inspection and repair of heating systems for any military family in need who has an active duty family member.

Families of active duty military should contact Operation Homefront through their website, www.operationhomefront.net/illinois and download the application for assistance. Operation Homefront determines need and arranges for the services requested.

Participating MCA contractors will be contacted and will work with LU 597 volunteers to make certain that repairs are made quickly. If you are a contractor or LU 597 member contact Dan Bulley at 312/384-1220 for more information. If you are a family member of a soldier click on the link to Operation Homefront Illinois’s website and complete the online application for assistance www.operationhomefront.net/illinois.

Contractors of the Mechanical Contractors Association and members of Pipefitters Local 597 believe that all Americans have a responsibility to give back to the military families who sacrifice so much while their loved ones are protecting our country.

What Can You Do?

Operation Homefront Illinois provides products and services of all kinds to families of active-duty troops. There are over 15,000 troops from the Chicago area. These troops and their families need our help to meet the demands of life without a spouse at home and limited military incomes.

You can help by providing monetary donations, gift cards for furniture, groceries or even entertainment. Please help in any way you can. Our troops are risking their lives to protect us. The least we can do is to help their families while they are away.
