CEI: Rethink Leadership! Part One

January 13 @ 8:00 am - 12:00 pm CST

Instructor: Steve Thomas

CEI Classroom

Leadership is influence and how we steward that influence to accomplish positive things in, with and through people. Our leadership can get stuck from time to time and, oftentimes, we don’t even notice as it’s happening. So, it’s imperative that we continually take time to reflect on and rethink leadership. In this session, we will focus on the desire of every leader to build a team within their organization.

Can a team be effective without an effective team leader? It is possible, but not probable. We will discuss what it means to be a “follow-able” leader. There are qualities that people look for in a leader that also determine whether they will follow him or her. We will discuss what they are and introduce practices you can apply to ensure that you’re the leader that others look to. Beliefs and philosophies on leadership can be found just about anywhere, some of which we hold as truths today. However, some of those messages are outdated, inaccurate, or simply untrue.

This interactive session will explore the deeper qualities of leadership and why great leaders are great leaders and how those leaders build effective teams. We will discuss your beliefs about leadership and how they may be affecting the over all culture of the organization. You will leave with a better understanding of who you are and who you want to be as a leader.
